Let’s be honest — hearing criticism stings, even when we know better.
And today, I want to dive into something we don’t always talk about openly: haters.
Not because they deserve the attention, but because how you handle negativity says everything about your growth.
This isn’t a post about blaming anyone else.
It’s a post about radical ownership. About remembering that no matter what comes your way, you have the power to protect your energy, your purpose, and your peace.
In the context of this conversation, I’m talking about the people who:
Not constructive feedback.
Not genuine accountability.
I’m talking about unnecessary, unhelpful shade from people who don’t truly know your heart.
And if you’ve ever been on the receiving end, you know how easy it is to fall into a spiral of What’s wrong with me?
But here’s the truth: Their behavior is a reflection of them — not you.
When you’re facing criticism or hate, you have two choices:
You are not the victim of your circumstances.
You are the creator of your experience.
Owning your growth means asking hard questions:
It’s not about being perfect.
It’s about staying connected to who you are — no matter what.
Here’s something that changed my perspective:
People don’t tear you down because you’re failing. They tear you down because you’re shining.
Insecurity shows up two ways:
Both are rooted in unhealed fears and self-doubt.
And when someone projects that onto you, it’s a signal — not about you, but about what’s unsettled inside of them.
Sometimes people say things that come out wrong.
Sometimes they’re trying (badly) to give a compliment.
Sometimes they’re trying to make themselves feel better — not necessarily trying to tear you down.
Practicing radical genuineness means looking at others with compassion — even when they don’t deserve it — because you refuse to let their behavior steal your peace.
It’s not about excusing toxicity.
It’s about protecting your energy.
The reality is, the people criticizing you aren’t losing sleep over it.
So why let their words live rent-free in your mind?
What you focus on grows.
If you focus on the hate, you’ll feel smaller and smaller.
If you focus on your values, your goals, and your joy — you expand.
Choose expansion.
Choose your peace.
I know it sounds ridiculous.
But what if you chose to see the hate as evidence that you’re doing something worth noticing?
Because no one throws rocks at an empty house.
If you’re getting shade, it means you’re standing out. You’re building something beautiful. You’re living boldly.
And that’s something to be proud of.
Behind every smiling photo, every crown, every achievement — real life is happening.
Grief, loss, financial stress, heartbreak — all of it exists alongside success.
Nobody’s life is perfect, no matter what it looks like on social media.
And if someone chooses to imagine that your life is “perfect” and resent you for it?
That’s on them — not you.
Stay grounded in reality.
Stay anchored in gratitude.
If you take nothing else from this, take this:
Don’t give away your power by focusing on who dislikes you.
Focus on becoming someone you’re proud of — the kind of person who radiates confidence, compassion, and resilience.
And if you’ve ever been the one who projected your pain onto someone else?
Own that, too. Apologize. Grow. Heal.
We’re all in process.
We’re all learning.
And there is so much freedom waiting on the other side of radical ownership.
Ready to build unshakable confidence and purpose?
