Let me be honest with you: this post didn’t come from a perfectly outlined plan. It started with the usual chaos—sleepy, uncaffeinated thoughts, a “what do I even want to say today?” spiral, and a slow start to the day. But after a little caffeine (shout out to amino energy and coffee deliveries from AJ), something clicked. And what followed was one of the most powerful reflections I’ve had in a while.
That moment reminded me of one of the core reasons I started Fearlessly Authentic Coaching in the first place: we grow the most when we let go. That growth doesn’t come from forcing or hustling harder. It comes when you stop gripping so tightly to the outcome and start trusting yourself and your timing.
I’ve lived this firsthand. When I was competing for Miss Wisconsin, I went into my second year with the wrong mindset. I was clinging to control. I wanted it too badly. I was comparing myself, overthinking, and trying to check every box just right. And that year, despite being a double preliminary winner, I didn’t make the top five.
That stung. But it taught me everything.
The next year, I came back with a different energy. I had released the desperation. I remembered why I started. I knew who I was and what I was there to do. That year, I was first runner-up to Laura Kaeppeler. Six months later, she won Miss America, and I stepped in as Miss Wisconsin. Perfect timing.
We all do it. We try to control the timing, the results, the path. We think “If I can just hustle harder, prep more, impress everyone, then it’ll happen.”
But you know what gets in your way more than anything? Clinging to what you think you want and how you think it should happen.
Perfect timing isn’t about sitting back and doing nothing. It’s about prepping with purpose, letting go of expectations, and trusting that everything will line up when you are aligned.
It requires you to:
That’s what I help my clients work through. It’s not just about pageant prep. It’s about identity, confidence, mindset, and becoming someone who can not only chase a goal but hold the joy and peace that comes with it.
Here’s the mindset shift that changed everything for me: You are not the victim of your circumstances. You are the creator of your experience.
That truth shifts everything.
Whether you’re feeling stuck in your prep, questioning your timing, or wondering if you missed your shot—I want you to know this:
You are not behind.
You are not failing.
You are not too late.
You are exactly where you’re meant to be.
Your story is unfolding. Your next season is forming. But you have to be willing to stop white-knuckling the steering wheel and start trusting the GPS—even when it reroutes you.
So release. Let go. Reconnect with your purpose. Trust your timing.
The best things happen when you stop trying to force perfect and start creating flow.
